COVID-19 Update

As of this Sunday, 22 March 2020, we will not be meeting all together as a Church for either our Sunday services or our midweek lessons. We are encouraging the marrieds, the older singles and, those with any health issues or concerns to meet virtually – I would encourage you to listen to either the Melbourne Live stream (Mike Vassallo) or the Sydney live stream (Mike Fontenot) – the links will be on our website, Facebook and Instagram pages (Remember the time difference).

From this Wednesday we will begin live streaming in Brisbane. This Sunday the University students and Yopros will have an optional gathering in the park with a short lesson.

At this stage under the current government guidelines we are still able to meet in small groups with people to share the gospel and meet people’s needs. At this stage to our knowledge we have no confirmed COVID -19 cases within the Church.  I would encourage people to continue to live meaningful spiritual lives in these unprecedented times and not to give way to worry, fear or panic remembering Jesus’ words in Matthew 6.25-44.

Please remember to keep in mind the new government COVID -19 guidelines which include the following:

  • The need to adhere to latest the social distancing laws – keeping a 1.5 m distance between people and no more than one person per four square metres;

  • The need to avoid handshaking, hugs and other physical greeting;

  • If you or anyone in your household are feeling unwell please stay home and rest, as well as getting any medical attention that you need;

  • If you have travelled from overseas within the last 14 days, please self-isolate at home;

  • If you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, you should have already received medical attention and been instructed to be in home isolation.

Please check the government website for the latest guidelines and information.

In the next few days we will also be emailing everyone more details on how we can best move forward as the Kingdom of God in these difficult times – let us shine like stars to those around us.

We are a movement who strive to imitate and follow Jesus in our daily lives, basing all our beliefs on the Bible. It is our goal to know God and make Him known. At the Brisbane Christian Church we see the bible as the key to our faith and how we live. For this reason, as well as diving deeply into the scriptures on Sundays and Wednesday nights, we also offer personal bible studies.
